Our thanks to Rod and Traci Lewis for creating this useful tool.
Instructions (you may wish to print this page)
1. Download the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to your computer by
clicking here (this will initiate
an "ftp" file transfer to your computer -- it may happen
in the background). Using the template requires Microsoft Excel,
available separately from Microsoft Corporation.
2. Open the chart and click on the Worksheet tab on the bottom.
Enter in the header information (things that won't be changing from
cycle to cycle) and then save it. Then also save it as NFP1 for
the 1st cycle. For the next cycle, open the blank one and then save
it as NFP2. . .
3. All of the gray fields on the Worksheet are user input. They
will automatically be charted on the first page (the Chart). When
the starting day for the cycle in entered, it will automatically
fill in the date range, on both the Worksheet and the Chart, based
on a 40 day chart. Each gray field with a red dot in the top left
hand also has a note. Just move the mouse over the field and it
will tell you the options for that field. Right now there is no
validation so it's up to you to enter the correct information.
4. On the Chart, the fields on the bottom must also be filled in.
That along with the pre-rise base line, the full thermal shift level
line, the encircled high temps, and the six last lows (the gray
fields on the 97.0 line) are the only things that need to be entered
on the Chart, everything else on the Worksheet. Peak Day is entered
in the Sex column on the Worksheet.
NFP users are also welcome to download and print off this PDF document for home use if they are unable or do not wish to use the Excel chart.
