Teacher Training for Healthy Relationship Education

Whether you are a parent, teacher, or youth worker, if you are around preteens and teens, you owe it to them to know how to make the greatest impact. You are a mentor, role model, and resource for young people. Today, more than ever, it is important that you know how to counteract the dangerous messages about risky sex that young people hear every day at school, at the mall, on the streets, and especially in the media.

At the completion of the teacher training you will:

  • Know current trends in adolescent pregnancy rates, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and HIV/AIDS.
  • Be able to list ways to promote healthy behaviors.
  • Be able to give concrete examples of parental involvement.
  • Know strategies to effectively teach positive youth development.

This amazing resource includes the online course, effective for use within a one-year time frame, and a mailed packet of materials. It is available for a registration fee of only $25.00. Whether you are a middle school teacher, or simply a curious adult, this course is a great way to educate yourself on one of the most pressing issues of our day.

Why Choose Our Curricula?

Hundreds of thousands of teen girls become pregnant each year, sexually transmitted infections are at epidemic proportions with over two-thirds occurring among young people ages 15-25, and there is significant emotional pain that occurs with early sexual involvement, and countless hearts are broken.

Youth Development programs are focusing on skill-building, boundary setting, and an understanding of healthy relationships. This results in more and more young people saying “yes” to the freedom of healthy relationships and “yes” to developing true friendships.

Northwest Family Services has been involved in youth development education for over 20 years. Its FACTS curriculum has been proven effective and is used in school systems nationwide. NWFS continues to grow and to expand its services. Currently, we have many offerings in youth development. To learn more about these items, look for them in our catalog.
