Northwest Family Services is pleased to announce that it is now performing three teen dramas featuring issues high school students face. These are peer-led dramas, performed by high school and college-age actors, sensitively portraying the consequences of teen sexual involvement and the benefits of making healthy choices. They have received rave reviews from the thousands of middle school and high school students who have viewed them. Two English-speaking dramas, Promises for middle school audiences and Truth or Consequences for high school audiences, show students how to deal with the pressures of being a teen in an upbeat, positive, and sometimes humorous manner. These performances positively model effective ways for teens to manage sexual pressure and include examples of refusal skills, self-respect, goal-setting, and healthy relationships. The Spanish speaking drama and vignettes, Encuentros, also include information on other preventive education, including messages about the dangers of gang involvement and drug and alcohol abuse.
These school assembly dramas have been viewed by over one hundred thousand youth, and they are offered for a limited number of live performances each year. Schedules for these dramas fill quickly, so please call soon if you are interested in having a group perform at your school or event. If you are a school educator in Oregon and are interested in learning more about bringing one of these dramas to your school, please contact Northwest Family Services. |

“One of the most informative assemblies our students attended this year was your program. This event impacted our students in a very positive way… (and) proved to be a valuable resource…I would highly recommend it.”
