iGritalo…soy Latino! is a successful outreach event that for the last five years has served to unite communities through cultural presentations and activities, city-wide soccer tournaments for youth, and informative booths from a variety of agencies in the community. The purpose of this community event, usually held at a local school, is to promote community connectedness and successful lifestyles. At iGritalo…soy Latino! families are able to support and encourage the youth that participate in the soccer tournaments, enjoy good food, become aware of the services available through Northwest Family Services and other agencies in their community, and celebrate their culture through presentations from cultural dance groups; Youth are able to give back by volunteering with set-up, serving food, performing, and clean-up. Each event outreaches to an average of 300-500 community members.
