Clubs, after-school, and summer programs can be a great place to lay the foundations of character education. Outside of a traditional class or school setting, Northwest Family Services integrates its messages with a more mentoring and activity-based approach.
These programs are flexible in audience, setting and topic. Northwest Family Services teaches character-building class series to late elementary, middle, and high school audiences. School and community program coordinators are welcome to choose from a list of program topics including:
- Self-Esteem
- Goal-Orientation
- Relationships
- Abstinence
- Healthy Friendships
- Risk-Avoidance
- Peer Pressure and more.
Please call 503-215-6377 if interested.
Northwest Family Services also offers parenting classes such as becoming a love and logic parent and family workshops on handling the teen years. http://www.nwfs.org/factsworkshops.htm. These typically are organized and arranged by a school or community group who can guarantee a minimum number of participants (varies according to program). If your group is interested in scheduling a workshop or family series, please call or email service@nwfs.org.
