Recovery Navigator | Salary: $22/Hour

This position works with the Department of Human Services (DHS) to support parents in building motivation and engaging with Alcohol and Drug Treatment CADC staff.

What you’ll do:

  • Work cooperatively with DHS staff during the client’s engagement, treatment, and recovery phases.
  • Provide DAST and treatment readiness screeners while meeting with clients to determine their course of treatment.
  • Using a trauma-informed approach, meet with clients in the community to assist treatment connection and motivation.
  • Provide referrals to clients and their families for the appropriate services and resources.
  • Connect with clients and share relevant personal experiences in order to facilitate the client’s recovery.
  • Act as a support for the client and their family.
  • Serve as a role model to clients and their families.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Other duties as required.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide support to other Recovery Navigation staff.
  • Create and maintain a robust referral network.
  • Share mental and physical health resources and education with community members.
  • Follow the protocol, policies, and procedures of the department and agency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on a consistent basis.
  • Complete and submit reports as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide culturally responsive services that are equitable, respectful, and relevant to people from a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds and orientations.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Regularly participate in professional development.

Who you are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write Spanish and English fluently.
  • A self-identified person formerly receiving addiction services and who has been in recovery for a minimum of two years.
  • Current Certified Recovery Mentor through MHACBO is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community and social service agencies.
